Errwood Hall – (29th September 2018)

Summer has decided to return and end with a flourish… so, off we go on another SheldonTour in the beautiful countryside on our doorstep. This time DiscoDeb decided to take us on part of the walk that she took the young Duke Of Edinburghs’. This ramble is on the Derbyshire and Cheshire border and starts at the Cat & Fiddle, heads down towards the Goyt Valley and Errwood Reservoir, before shooting off to the left and taking in the sights of Errwood Hall. It is a nice five mile walk with good footing. It was chilly to start with and quite windy but we soon warmed up and got the blood flowing. The views, as always, are spectacular and it was great to see the patchwork of different greens and browns as we surveyed the horizon. The trees were still very green and Autumn doesn’t look like it has started down in the Goyt Valley. Here is the route, stats, and some photos.
